Nicking

WOULD YOUR MARE AND WAR DANCER MAKE A GOOD MATCH?

Nicking is the crossing of a sire with the daughters of another sire in hopes of reproducing favorable results from earlier matings.  A ‘nick” occurs when a sire does significantly better with the daughters of a particular sire than with his other mates.
For your information and convenience, we offer 2 nicking programs. We encourage you to nick with both  as they rely on different sources of information.

GREAT LINES THAT CROSS WITH WAR DANCER

War Dancer’s offspring will be free of Mr. Prospector at five generations on their sire’s side, and we can note that War Front has enjoyed considerable success when bred over mares from the Mr. Prospector line. Other lines to consider are:

  • Distorted Humor
  • Sadler’s Wells
  • Deputy Minister through mares by Awesome Again and his son Ghostzapper and Touch Gold
  • A.P. Indy
War Front already has 6 stakes winners from daughters of Pulpit and graded winners of mares by A.P. Indy and Old Trieste, suggesting other sources of A.P. Indy, such as Malibu Moon, Mineshaft, Congrats, Flatter and Bernardini
  • Roberto line mares there are graded winners out of daughters of Red Ransom and Arch.
From this line, we can also note a graded winner from a mare by Dynaformer.
